on our way to Newfoundland we stayed at Shiretown inn and suites. the check-in was fast and easy, the rooms were super comfortable and clean. We ate dinner at the attached DOWN UNDER restaurant. holy cow was the food amazing. staying here was the right choice

Every visit here is a pleasure! Rooms are clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. Linda and Jade are very pleasant and accommodating. Several options for meals nearby.
Best rated of the 2 places in town, desk people were very nice, clean room. Changed beds because one was too hard, other one was better. Had to call office 2x to get the air con turned down. Close to Timmy's and WalMart and the hwy.
The wife and I were traveling up to Houlton for a family event; didn't really thing the 2 hotels there would amount to much, but we were very much surprised and happy with the Shiretown Inn & Suites. Now we did stay in the newer rooms near the front of the hotel so we can't say anything about the older rooms but, boy were the hallways nice, rooms spotless, and front desk help was very nice. Also their is a restaurant on site that was extremely good! Can't help but give the Shiretown 5 stars!!! We will always stay there when in town!!!
Excellent for crossing US/CA border... It's close to 10-15 minutes away. No frills but very clean. My only complaint is that depending on where your room is (we have stayed many times) people opening and closing the outside door is extremely loud. That being said, we have had rooms where we can barely hear the outside door.
I've stayed in nicer hotels with worse rooms. I was pleasantly surprised! Definitely returning!
I just had the food man. Top teir. The pool has been closed since covid which was the only pool in town open to the public... stupid choices... kiddos cant even have swimming lessons!!! But the food is good :)
